About stadium

Old Trafford is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United.

Stadium introduction

Old Trafford with a capacity of 74,994. It is the largest club football stadium (and second largest football stadium overall after Wembley Stadium) in the United Kingdom, and the eleventh-largest in Europe.Old Trafford has hosted FA Cup semi-finals, England fixtures, matches at the 1966 World Cup and Euro 96 and the 2003 Champions League Final, as well as rugby league's annual Super League Grand Final and the final of two Rugby League World Cups. It also hosted football matches at the 2012 Summer Olympics, including women's international football for the first time in its history.

How to get to the Stadium

Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester, M16 0RA

Train:

Manchester is served by four train stations: Piccadilly (The largest one), Oxford Road, Deansgate and Victoria. Combined they all pretty much cover the city centre however it isn’t very practical to walk to Old Trafford for most football fans.

Metrolink:

The easiest (and most popular) way to get to Old Trafford from the city centre is probably the Metrolink which leaves from Piccadilly Railway station taking 15 minutes.

Bus:

Buses depart from Piccadilly Gardens and you can get the Stagecoach 255, 256 or Arriva North West No 263 to the stadium, taking 20 minutes or so at the cost of a few quid.

Airports and Flying:

Manchester Airport is just eight miles away from Old Trafford and once you have landed you can either choose to get a cab (£25.00) or train to Manchester Piccadilly Railway station. This departs every 10 minutes or so, and takes approximately 20 minutes.
